On 9th March 2017, Director of The Poetry Archive and member of the National Memory Day Partnership Tracey Guiry was invited to speak at the internationally acclaimed Tedx series of talks when they came to Plymouth for Tedx Plymouth University.
Tracey’s talk ‘Is there anybody there?:The Power of Poetry to Unlock Memories’ takes the audience on an emotional journey which explores the ways in which poetry can be used to inspire memories and conversations for people suffering with dementia and their loved ones.
She takes us through the story of her mother, who inspired the National Memory Day initiative. Tracey encourages everyone to get involved with National Memory Day, a celebration of memories and poetry and urges you to find your poem, the one which could stir those precious memories to life…
